Lefaxan

Miniature 3D sets with cel animated characters for the pharma brand.

Kaho directed a mixed media animated film for Bayer's medication Lefaxan, taking a subject that is often considered to be taboo or off-putting, and transforming it into creative that depicts the common bodily issue with humanity and humour.

Working with German-based agency PEIX and a team of creatives, Kaho crafted 3D sets in her signature style with rich textural compositions, and combined them with 2D cel animated characters.

"When I first received the brief, I was thrilled by the opportunity to tackle a very human, yet often taboo topic—bloating and stomach issues—with humor and compassion. We’ve all experienced it, so we can all relate. Given the personal nature of the subject, I wanted the visuals to reflect this connection. I decided that a hand-made set would be the perfect choice. Miniatures and physical sets tend to create an immediate sense of familiarity and engagement." - Kaho

"For the animation itself, it was crucial to make the main character relatable. She’s a professional who loves her job and enjoys her personal life, but her stomach issues are holding her back from fully living her best life. I aimed to portray her struggle with empathy, showing the annoyance of the issue without making it feel too scary or daunting. My goal was to leave the audience feeling hopeful and empowered by the end."
