New York Times Holiday Books

The Holiday Books Package is one of the New York Times’ biggest features of the year, and as an existing fan, Alva Skog was absolutely delighted when NY Times approached them to illustrate their latest holiday issue. Consisting of a cover illustration and 11 other illustrations for different themes within the issue, Alva covered several themes including: cooking, children’s cooking, children’s notables, Hollywood, music, otherworldly, thrillers, travel, 100 notables, sport, historical, fiction and photography. Two of these illustrations were also animated by KITCHEN.

Alva worked closely with NY Times’ Art Director Matt Dorfman to develop the overall theme for the issue helping to encapsulate the joyous and festive spirit of the holiday season.
